After the Helios crash I came across a question. What is about Nordic Leisure? It's also a not well known airline for the customers and not very reliable as I think. Lot's of flights were cancelled and most of the flights are delayed. Few weeks ago a Nordic flight from PMI to DRS and back was delayed again and again. Plane was scheduled to be SE-DMT AFAIK. Then I read in a local spotter forum that the passengers refused to board the plane at PMI because of their bad experience on the inbound flight two weeks ago. Any infos on this story. It happened on 17th of July 2005 and the flight was operated with a delay of around 12 hours by Hapagfly.

I could just speak in general, as I haven't flown with Nordic Leisure my self. They are kind of well known in Sweden. They fly a lot of charter flights from ARN to destinations in central- and south Europe. I think they have 3 MD80s and one MD90 for the moment. One more to arrive from SAS soon. The MD90 should be the one wish is located in Germany for the summer season.
What we have been able to see here ARN is that they don't have more delays in generel than other charter airlines. And I know alot of people flying with them, without having any complaints etc.

I have flown with Nordic Leisure just recently, SXF - PMI, PMI-SXF. They are using old SAS equipment, the pilots were either Swedish or Spanish.
While I cannot comment on safety, these flights were the smoothest I have ever flown on. Service is nothing to talk about, it was bad, but I couldn't care less.
Some parts still had the SAS logo on it, and I would say they are safe. As these airplanes are based in PMI, they are maintained there. As also Spanair is flying to PMI, there are many, many MD80s there regularly. Therefore I would say that you don't find another place in Europe where the personnel has as much experience with MD80s like there, with the exception of CPH, maybe...
From what I have seen and from what I know about the safety standards in Scandinavian countries (I have lived in Denmark for several years, they are VERY strict on safety issues), I would say that they are very safe.

Can't comment on the safety issue, but my impression is that they are almost always delayed at ARN. I've seen lots of delayed Nordic Leisure flights this summer. This is of course not unique for them. Other similar carriers also experience many delays.

Well. Different opinions on this subject. But seems that they're not that bad as I thought. Nearly all airlines were delayed sometimes but at NRD I recognized ver heavy delays...that's why I talked about.
