(SUDBURY – August 4, 2005) – Sunwing Vacations believes Northern Ontario residents will be more interested in Varadero, Cuba than any other holiday destination this winter. For this reason, the company has announced they will be flying directly from both the Greater Sudbury Airport the Thunder Bay International Airport to Varadero, a first for both the company and the cities.
“Until now all travel to the Caribbean from Northern Ontario required a stop-over. Now residents can take our direct-to-destination flights, saving them both time and money,” said Stephen Hunter, COO of Sunwing Vacations. “We are extremely excited to be offering our V.I.P. services to people in Sudbury and Thunder Bay.”
The direct-to-destination flights will take off weekly departing from Sudbury every Wednesday from December 21 to March 15, and on Sundays from December 25 to March 12 for residents of Thunder Bay. Customers will have a choice of seven or 14 night holidays, and all flights will be on the company’s new leisure airline, Sunwing Airlines, which offers travellers Elite Champagne In-Flight Services

Acidradio, expect the 737-800 on these routes. I love it, "Elite champagne inflight service" ... does that mean Canada 3000 ("Elite") service, plus champagne? I wouldn't be expecting much more It's nice to see them try different markets though, I have a feeling Sunwing is going to do well.
