Almost a year has passed since I posted the “Ultimate PTV Thread” in November so it was time for the second edition. This time I included “AVOD” (Audio/Video-on-Demand) info from the beginning.
For all new members: this thread is exclusively about inflight entertainment options in Economy class, not about Business and First.
Additional data requires additional shortcuts and symbols, so please read the following instructions carefully in order to perceive all details given in the list:
all listed aircraft types without further notice or symbols have PTVs on board
* = only parts of fleet equipped with PTV or installation in process
A = PTV plus AVOD (Audio/Video-on-Demand) available
A* = standard PTV on board; part of fleet also equipped with AVOD or its installation in process
*A* = fleet partly with and without PTV or partly without PTV, and partly with AVOD or its installation in process
A+ = standard PTV available and planned to receive AVOD, or future deliveries planned to include AVOD
+A = PTV not available but fleet planned to receive AVOD
L = PTV & LiveTV
L* = PTV & LiveTV partly available or installation in process
L+ = LiveTV planned with future deliveries
A330 = all series if not specified
A340 = all series if not specified
B767 = all series if not specified
B777 = all series if not specified
Italics = future fleet addition
Before you start checking the data, please be aware the list is not absolutely complete. Quick changes in aviation are quite common and there are always pieces of information which cannot be gained easily and without doubt. Especially in terms of AVOD it is very hard sometimes to get reliable info.
So should you find mistakes or data missing, don’t hesitate to let me know. Last time many members helped me in extending and upgrading the original list. So thanks in advance for any input!
And here it is: the “Ultimate PTV List” – latest edition - featuring 71 airlines:

Thanks Udo, great information!
China Airlines 747-400 has 4 airframes in their 744 fleet with Boeing Signature Interior installed, which as AVOD in the econ class. (B-18210, B-18211, B-18212, B-18215)
I'm not sure if they updated B-18209 with AVOD and Signature Interior after they installed Connexion by Boeing on that plane. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks for that! Indeed these are the four new B744s which they received between 12/04 and 04/05. I knew there was something missing for CAL!

Great List however I believe that CO only has PTV's in Y class on it's B-764's or perhaps I misread the legend of your list.

Quoting HOONS90 (Reply 3): BTW, KE are planning to install AVOD on the 744s, too
That's great news! Thai Airways should listen to them...

Both B762 and B764 are equipped with PTVs, I just wrote "B767" for all series.

Quoting ChrisA330 (Reply 6): Installation on the existing fleet begins this fall - new deliveries have the system installed, but not activated.
I wasn't sure about that after the latest AC decisions. Which aircraft will be included besides B763, CRJ705, E175 and E190 - A319/320/321 also? Any news on A330 and A343?
Quoting A330323X (Reply 7): US Airways offers AVOD at every seat on its A330 aircraft.
Does LH actually offer a program on the PTV's of their 332's? I mean, they only have two (?) of them and developing a special PTV program for so few airplanes would be a bit pricey in my opinion. Does anyone have info?

An AC executive confirmed - on another board, that the refurb will go ahead on the A333/343 fleet. The Narrowbody fleet will start conversion this fall, and the widebody fleet starts in March 2006 IIRC.

Quoting Karan69 (Reply 9): Fantastic work UDO, altough I do think Swiss Airlines have AVOD on their 340s.
I wasn't sure about the A340 first but some posts now confirm it.
Quoting PhilSquares (Reply 10): All of SQ's 744s have AVOD. The 777 depends on if it's a "regional" configuration.
Ok, point taken.

I have searched quite a bit to find that out but without results. I guess someone who has flown on the aircraft can tell us. Anyways, the two A332 leave in winter, so LH goes totally non-PTV again.

Thanks. So all jets except for the CRJ100/200 will be included. Do the CRJ705 and Embraer also get AVOD? Must be very heavy.
Quoting AJO (Reply 13): Iberia has PTVs in the ex SQ 744s, AFAIK.
Yes, they are ex-SIA - but the question is whether the PTVs are really operational.
Quoting Aviationwiz (Reply 15): I thought all of the 744's now have a PTV + AVOD. Which ones aren't?

Looks like you should edit the original post then to display an 'A' and not an '*A*'

These two remaining A332 have indeed got PTV. I flew on one of them (D-AIME) and i also flew on one of the ones that has been returned to lessor (D-AIMC), they all have PTV in economy. This due to the fact that they are leased birds from Sabena and Swissair.
Quoting Beany (Reply 22): BA is in the process of installing PTV's on its longhaul 767's. Process to be completed later this year. Some are already flying.
I didn't know that. Their website doesn't show any details, only saying "PTV available on most aircraft".

Udo
25 Udo: Mika, are they fully operational with different channels or do they only show the regular mainscreen programming? Regards Udo
26 Beany: The PTV's are being installed on the 767 the same time that the FIRST cabin is being removed, WTP being installed as well as NCW. This is known as du

38 ChrisA330: From the information I've read/seen, it applies to all. Even the rickety 762 non-ER.

41 Afay1: Should Transaero be added to the list as it is now in possesion of several ex-Virgin Atlantic 747-200s apparently with PTVs still installed?
42 HeeseokKoo: Asiana's A330s equipped with AVOD, so it should be A330 A For 777, one of the 6 777s has AVOD, and 5 others only have PTV. I have no idea if Asiana h
