Ship 3168, which was hit by a DC-9 earlier this year, now has its tail back on. It has finally moved from the middle of the hangar along I-494 where it has sat tailless while repairs took place. The plane had taxiied outside the hangar, and is now back inside. By the looks of it, this bird should be returning to the skies soon.

What's the deal with the damage to the wing? Was it fixed already?

I thought that the A319 was considered a writeoff after being inspected.  Confused

Not sure about that. Hopefully someone can shed some light on that. I am also wondering about the DC-10 that has been parked out front there lately. Normally any widebody on that end of the airport is broken or has its days numbered.

Airbus was involved with the repair.

Last I heard back in June, Airbus and NWA were working on splicing the wing and repairing the cracked wing spar. I am guessing the procedure must be complete, or close to completion. Other than that, I haven't heard anything regarding the aircraft, hope to see it back in the air soon!

I too had heard of the aircraft being written off, but this must not have been the case.

What was the deal on the DC-9 again? It had hydro failure and lost it's brakes? Is it back in service?

Saw some pics of it a while ago with another DC9 that was also invoved in an accident that had it radar removed, engines i think were also removed. Sounds like both DC9s were being prepared to be broken up

Maybe the DC9 did it on purpose. Maybe it was saying 'Ive been here longer than you, and now your taking over, so take that'

I believe those 2 dc9s N963N, and N763NC are still next door to Buiwding F engineless.. I am guessing they will use those 2 for spare parts. Try and save money (which won't work)

They are being parted out. Rumor has it they'll be gone before year's end.
