Just a quickie. I flew Lauda Air recently to Australia in the Amadeus Class (C class). I must stress how fantastic the service is on this airline. The food was just out of this world. Five course meals personally laid out and prepared by the onboard chef and the F/A's, was really something to remember. I was however disappointed by the seat. It is clear that the 777-200 has not had an update since birth and I really feel that it is time to refurb with some new more comfortable seats. On the contrary, all that needs doing is to set the recline back a little more and to extend the leg rest so it comes up high enough to offer decent support.
With an inflight service that could put many of the best to shame, surely it would be wise to improve their seats in order to really compete with the big boys. As I understand it Lauda offer a Charter Service which justifies slightly more competitive prices. But it is not so cheap that they can con you out of a decent seat!
Hail Lauda's service. But their seats are shocking!
Anyone else notice this or has any news of a refurb?

Thank God, the business class seats on my 763 from VIE to BKK last month were old. But as you said, the service was outstanding. I hope in the makeover they redo the stewardess uniforms, there's too much bright red and they are overwhelming after waking up from a long nap on a flight.

I read the link, but there is no mention of them updating business class on the A330/340 fleet. The seats on those planes could also use an update. Also, are they going to install connexion on them as well?

I heard the Austrian seat are great, the leg rest looks like one that airlines offer on First Class. I really think that more attention should be paid to getting the leg rest up so that it actually allows you to stretch your legs out and be supported.
The United Airlines leg rest is reasonable. Last month I was on the 763 and 777 in C- Class and the legrest was long enough but did not come up high enough. In order to be comfy I had to balance an extra pillow on the plastic foot rest and then put my legs on top. What an effort to get comfy.
Lauda will really hit the spot with a flat bed. They are at least £500 cheaper than the other Star Alliance Business Class fare and because their is no First. You are treated like royalty! Cannot wait to give them a whirl!
