NGO is a codeshare flight with JL (operated by JL's B772)

BKK will return 1 x Daily A343, as the flights will not continue anymore to SGN or HAN.

Right. An A343 will operate AF346 until January 1st, then a B772ER operate AF346 again.

The A343 offers more capacity in Y, less J and no P as the demand during the Christmas holidays is lower in those classes.

  • Good to see SXM back to daily on the A343...
  • What's up with BEY? 772s and 773s? They must be a huge destination demand-wise; is that more business or leisure demand?

KWI will continue to be served 3 x Weekly next winter.
Frequencies should be increased when AF will receive its 5th A319ER.

Right. BLR is Bangalore; AF also codeshares with Delta on CDG-MAA (operated by a DL B763).
Hyderabad will be also opened, but by KLM from AMS.

CDG-BEY is a very successful line for both AF & MEA. All the flights (3 x Daily) are codeshared AF/ME.
In summer, AF/ME fly 2 x A332 (ME) + 1 B777 (2ER or 3ER - AF- ) Daily + an extra weekly AF B777 on Fridays.

3 x Daily frequencies are also operated in winter : 1 x A332 (ME) + 1 x A321 (ME) + 1 x B777 (2ER/3ER AF), with a high demand in P & J.

Wow about Beirut. That means there are 709 seats per day on the Paris - Beirut route.

MEA's daily A321-200 red-eye flight, MEA's daily A330-200 morning flight, and now Air France's daily 777 flight which has been upgraded to a Boeing 777-300ER! That's not including Star Airlines' 2x weekly (3x weekly in the summer) A320-200 flights. I wonder how they are fairing...

I know MEA wants to get a 4th A330-200 so they can upgrade the service to 2 daily A330-200s. I believe the plan is aimed for next year.

FlySSC,

Exactly when does the Beirut flight get upgraded to the 773ER?

San747,

If you take a look at this picture taken last summer, you will see an Air France 777-200ER and an Air France 747-400 parked side by side in Beirut airport. I think you can get an idea of how much demand there is on this route:

Officially, if you look in "Alpha3", the AF's system, the flight should be Daily operated by a B773ER ... In reality, a B772ER is programmed everyday except on sunday (B773ER). But there again, it is very easy for AF to switch from a B772ER to 3ER at the "last minute" (Same cockpit & Cabin crew) if the demand is high, like during Christmas holidays.

The B744 was operating the extra weekly summer flight (AF562) last year. It was operated by a "smaller" B772ER this year but the regular daily AF566 was often operated by a B773ER to increase the offer.

Yup, I don't think BEY will be getting anymore AF 744s since they now don't have an F cabin. Or perhaps there is another reason.

Didn't AF operate an extra 777 on Fridays AND Sundays this summer?
