NWA is not going to outsource the cleaning of the aircraft, IAM workers will be doing the cleaning and the pushbacks of the planes as soon as everyone is trained at the jobs....not good for the AMFA folks...Prospect will be doing it temporarily. The company "GAT" in Memphis will continue cleaning...

I don't think so because AMFA is not a member of AFL-CIO. If it was, I don't think they would do that. There is also a lot of bad blood because mechanics voted the IAM out for AMFA.

You are exactly right with that comment...the IAM does not want to go like the mechanics, so the more duties they have added on to their jobs now is good for them...

From the other unions point of view, it's probably better if the AMFA gets defeated. That will be less concessions that the IAM, PFAA, and ALPA will have to make down the road.

Look, if your boss tells you to do a job that is already performed by your group in other stations you do it or face disciplinary action. If the contract says you do it when AMFA personnel are not at that station, you do it. If AMFA has struck, they are not around. You worry about any paperwork later like grivances. Now if you consider yourself unsafe to perform a dangerous duty because of lack of training you may have a case for refusal but if the company can prove you have taken approved training - it's your job when your told to do it.
