IMO, it would have looked a lot better without the cheatline, or at least if the cheatline didn't curve down at the front of the plane.

To be honest, if you put the old one and the new one in front of me, I would be hard pressed to work out which was which. Nothing very different. Not inspiring, nothing telling me that 2 airlines merged. HP who?

Oh well, at least someone is making money out of it. Well done marketing, selling something you already have.

I really expected that it would be better than this!!! At the very least the blue and red on the bottom should extend to the nose. Curving down like that is nothing short of ugly, and adds way too much white to the scheme.

IMO, it looks just as Matt D predicted....like every other airline out there.

Very, very disappointed. The heritage logo is a good thing but damn....they could have done so much better. The US Airways FS paint scheme that someone posted in the other thread that looked so similar to this, was still 100 times better.

You know with all this hype surrounding the upcoming livery, you know it's still going to boil down to a conservative mix of white, blue, and possibly green and orange stripes and tail logo.

Many of us are going to look at it and say "you mean THAT'S IT?"

It will most likely not be anything new or breathtaking. Just a same conformist variant of all the existing liveries already out there.

Of course others will be foaming at the mouth oohing and awwing over it, talking about how "refreshing" and "modern" it is; how it's now "their favorite livery of all time".

Of course these are usually the same people for whom ANYTHING "new", even if it's an all white fuselage with nothing on it, would consider it a "refreshing" and "modern" livery that will be their all time favorite.....solely and entirely....because it's "new".

..and that's only until the next "new livery" comes along.

I really wanted to disagree. And now I can't. Just think it's so close to that excellent livery from the other thread...and yet so far just because of a few differences in design. But those differences really made or broke the scheme and well....they broke it.

Overall I think that I'm a little disappointed. It isn't terrible or really even bad. It's just kind of boring. Maybe they will finally paint a few in special liveries (i.e. Shamu, Wunala Dreaming, Nevada, California).

Does anyone have a close-up of this "heritage circle"? I'm interested to see what it looks like.

141 ETSTar : I do not even know where to start to say how disapointing the new livery is! Oh my lord! I have still not come to terms with United's new livery, and
142 Micstatic : Just out of curiosity, why did they choose the A320 for the unveiling??? Granted it's a nice looking plane, and the merged airline has a lot of them;
143 Post contains images Cpharris5514 : Y'know, there's a point to that! Count me in. Now, if we can just convince the airlines' livery designers to listen . . .

148 Falcon84 : I'm not. Being an armchair CEO is a cottage industry on here-that person on their PC with PaintShop Pro obviously thinks he knows better than anyone
149 HAL : To all of you complaining about the new look - and I'm speaking as a pilot for AWA - I think it is great. It is classy & interesting. The reason so ma

152 Chicago757 : Boring!!!! Looks like USA3000...... USAirways 3000!!!! haha! So much hype for that!? Oh well, guess the chapter 11 scheme will do for now.
153 USAIRWAYS321 : What about American, Northwest, Southwest, or Alaska? Do they stick only to their namesake regions? How about British Airways for crying out loud? I
154 HAL : The purpose for this is to say thank-you to the employees of those original companies still working for USAirways. It is to tell them that the manage

158 Robert74 : Oh my god, what have they done ? US had the best, the most elegant livery out there. Now it's not bad but the old livery was so nice ! What a shame.
159 Lufthansa : You completely misunderstood the point. Nobody is question the name... just the way that name is presented. As for the employees and their past...we'
160 Suv : Don't care for it at all. If you ask me...spend the money first on customer service, amenities, etc...then paint the planes. But, HP is now in the dri
161 AIH033 : So, am I right in thinking that all America West aircraft will have this paint-scheme as well? I hope not! What will happen to the special livery 757s
162 USAF336TFS : I have the same question... What will happen to the Boeing aircraft that both carriers have? Will it become an all Airbus fleet?
163 Post contains images MIAMIx707 : That's the part I hate, that retarded looking F is just a shade of the sleek looking trademart "F" on the round logo they had. To make matters worse

166 SonOfACaptain : The heat from the PHX and LAS hubs would be too much for the "black" livery of the current US planes. Can you imagine trying to keep them cool? -SOAC
