My colleague just came in and has heard that ATC is currently closed at LHR? Haven't seen anything posted and nothing on any news sites but does anyone here know any better?

Noel.

However LHR continues to work, the flight tracker in their website is working...

One of our clients was on a LHR-bound flight this morning (sorry don't know which one) which was diverted elsewhere, pilot came on and said that the reason was no air traffic control available at Heathrow...

Just had an email from BA - apparently there are currently no flights into or out of any London airports due to a computer failure....

Flight in question was Dusseldorf-Birmingham but was turned back to Dusseldorf so sounds like it's LATCC that's down...

Just what they need after the strikes!

According to www.baa.co.uk only some flights are delayed, none cx, many landed (some even early) - so the situation can´t be too bad ...

Seems it was repaired quite quickly. Most departures from MAN were delayed for a time, arrivals weren't affected, and we didn't get any London diversions.

Is this yet another case of everyone dying on that AF A340?

Maybe, but we can only go on the information that is available at the time.

Unfortunately I don't have my crystal ball handy to tell you the outcome when the fuss has died down....

Came into work this morning, and the T2 ramp was well busy!

Was wondering what had happened.

DL wasn't delayed though Big grin

Wow, BA passengers flying from LHR must feel they are playing Russian roulette each time they fly. "What will cause my delay or cancellation today!"

I can hear all the LHR inbounds flying above my house at approx 3000 feet, there are however a fair few cancellations this afternoon, from BRU, GVA, ZRH, CDG...

A friend of mine who works for BA said that the ATC at Swanwick had gone down... she is an F/A and her flights had been cancelled this afternoon.

Also, just been informed that there is a BA 777 currently at FRA, and to my knowledge it is BA108 from Dubai. No reg as yet...
