It appears that EADS is involved in the Japanese project to build a 300-seater successor to the Concorde, have a look:

I wonder if they envision to use fossil fuel or a more advanced one?

Maybe we should be taking this more seriously if EADS is getting involved? I'm not holding my breath though...
