Like four weeks ago, I was at Mexico City airport, and I see a Embraer 190 landing and going direct to AM hangar, the same thing like they do with the 777LR... Its any plans for AM or Aerolitoral to get the new Embraer...? Also correct me if I'm wrong, it was EMB170, or 190, I didn't see very well.

I don't think so, Not for Aeromexico, but Aerolitoral could get a few E170s/E190s in the future. There's an article on Embraer about Aerolitoral.

I think its a good airplane for Aerolitoral for higher density routes to the US and Mexican beach resorts. The E190 its the best DC9 or Fokker 100 replacement option. (just my opinion)

I've been wondering how an Aerocalifornia E190 would look like.

The EMB 190 order is backlogged for quite a bit of time. Jetblue did this to order many as possible to fill their planned routes and to keep other airlines from ordering it until all of their orders are delivered. It's under an contract with EMB.

Are you sure? I don't think Embraer would deliver 100 (maybe 200?) planes to one costumer and not look at the other ones. And as a matter of fact, TAME's order came well after B6's and their planes are expected soon.

Unless they were trying to defer large orders by would-be competitiors in the U.S. market.

Cheers,

It´s not true...

Embraer will deliver 190´s to TAME, Air Canada, FlyBe and other new customers... Embraer will produce (initially something like 4 190´s a month, 2 of them for JetBlue, and the other 2 to other customers).

During that week we had 3 items. EMB190, a QF Dash 8-400 and a Jazz CRJ 705.

The EMB175 was here for 6 days. First 2 went for demo to AeroMar. Then, 2 days later it went directly to AM for Aerolitoral and last carrier shown was MX for Click.

A Qantas Dash 8-400 came also during those days for MX-Click.

And a CRJ705 made also it's appearance for MX-Click.

Perhaps new orders for small props could follow soon.

Ghost... Do you think aeromar its going to change props ATR´s and start with EMB...?
That cut be a great step for Aeromar, don't you agree...?
Also if Aerolitoral start to expand the fleet with more EMB and the new ones 170 - 190 can start to build a great airline.

It´s not true...

It's printed in the book "Flying High" by David Needleman. It stated they ordered a large amount (don't know the exact figure since it's been a while I read the book) and they said that in it. I'm just telling you what was printed in it.

Heard that at least, not now, not for a while, hope they change their mind and at least get 1 or 2 for their expansion.

Unfortunately I don't see them getting jets in the short term. Not until competitors start getting into it's exclusive business market out from MEX.

I think we all agree on that! And would like very much to see VW with jets and probably a new c/s... it's time for change.

I would rather prefer to see them going for one model, the 145, but instead of 30 (as they intend) they should get 50 frames and synchronize their flights with AM's network.

Wy all the new and actual airlines in MEX don't think on EMB...? Does the price its high..? Im sure the maintenance its cheaper than a Boeing or Airbus don't you think so...?
For the ranges that they want to work, I think that's a great plane for MEX.

Did LOT convert some EMB-170/175 options into EMB-190's?

They converted E170 options into E175s. No E190s for LOT so far.

The only problem for this A/C in Mexico is the lack of cargo space it is equipped with. I only say this from my year of observations working next to Mexicana in SJC and seeing the sheer volume of checked baggage and cargo. It seems as though this is where the true market is, not in the passengers they carry, but all the fees they impose for overweight, excess, and oversized cargo. To be honest, sometimes I wonder how they make the A320 work for the same reasons.

Bingo! Cargo has indeed become a key driver in many routes. Since 2001, cargo volumes have grown by a steady 6.5% annually, worldwide - which is far ahead from pax traffic growth. That is 37% in five years!!

And of course, there are airlines who show more growth than others.
