Are these the dates which NZ "guarantee", the new service???
Is there a chance of the new service operating between AKL/LAX on 23-26 Dec...not NZ2

I gather the second 74R is sue out in approx 2 -3 weeks...surley the 3rd one should be ready by Novemeber. Remeber too the 74r will be pulled off AKL SFO AKL when the 772 comes on line in late October.

I will be very disappointed if i get the standard 744 onLHR LAX ON 10 Novemeber...........i will just keep praying...LOL

yep, I'm doing the same keeping my fingers and toes crossed! Hope that they don't fall back much more, I know the guys at ANZES are doing an outstanding job,
tho 'NZ1' has said that the second aircraft will be complete in about 2-3 Weeks, then it has to be scene off by the FAA and CAA, and hope the IFE does not crash again LOL,
tho looking at the dates it will be a very tight push to get it done, if the third aircraft goes in on time, I think its around the 15-20 Sep, this happens, (someone at akl could confirm this ) then it should be done by about the first week of Nov, which would work just right, however then you have 2 brand new T7's as well to play with!!
As it goes everyone at work, is still got hope in them, and were still taking bookings for the 6th Nov, based on the new refit..

What new product? I think there is some apples and oranges in this posting.
I would have thought that all NZ1/2 and 5/6 services to or through LAX will have the refurbished 747's well before the March date. Clearly there have been delays on the first two aircraft but by Christmas or early January there should be 4 aircraft refurbished. The AKL/NRT service; isn't this to be a
-200ER service?
I gather that at this time there is no date set for the -200ER's to take over the CHC/LAX route.

There will be 3 aircraft finished by Xmas, for sure, whether the 4th is ready depends on a number of things, from spares, tech services etc. You will have guaranteed 74R service on AKL-LHR by Xmas. SUJ is trucking along good at the moment, had a few issues with parts - again, but nothing major. NBW is next into the hangar, and is also having a C check done at the same time. This aircraft will also be the 1st to have the mood lighting activated.

CHC-LAX is looking like it will be March before 777's take over.

I think the reason NZ1/2 is getting the refurbished 744 is that it's NZ flagship sector. I checked the seatmaps on ITN and my travelling date is showing the 74R so here's hoping.

ZKojh...I flew the 74R a few weeks back AKL SYD and you will not be disappointed I assure you!

Hey guys, I have just flown on B74R. It was fantasitc and I took some photo of comfy seats and PTVs. I was told that some of the seats were broken when I flew from SFO-AKL. Here's the list of my experience on ANZ's new Y seats:-
- The seats were fantastic....very comfy
- AVODs are awesome but there's something problem with it.... When I kept pressing play, stop, fast forward and rewind, the movie moved very slowly. Sometimes it could not move probably...then the cabin crew rebooted my PTV for me. Then it worked. I also liked 3D Airshow!! Fantastic to watch it.
- No thigh support..
- The armrests are toooo wide and thick and they cannot recline up to 90 degree. Only up to 45 degree. That's why I couldnt move around the seats and couldnt lie down on three seats.

ANZ inflight service was fantastic and the cabin crews were nice and friendly.

Cheers

Can anyone confirm the flights to Aussie as the 74R, eg. AKL-MEL NZ123 on the 16th of Jan?

It's all about the destination AND the journey.

It is operating NZ131 quite often because it fits in well with NZ7/8. I departed SUI this morning to BNE.
