The F/A's union at AZ, SULT, initially called a strike for next week, but has posponed the 48 hour walk-out until 6/7 September. Walk-out is over the decision by AZ not to recognize SULT because they never agreed to the AZ restructuring plan.

Reportedly, Cimoli threatened to resign rather than agree to mediation proposed by the Italian welfare minister.

Seperately, AZ is to present its new business plan next week to formally begin the recap process that will see the Italian government stake fall below 50%. (Various News Wires).

So, will they make it?

If airlines like SN and SR can go bust, so can AZ. Despite millions of euros in questionably illegal state aid, they are still not in any shape for unions to be behaving like this. Message to union - no more AZ, no more jobs, so work with them.

Breakfast in BHX, lunch in FAO, dinner in TIP, baggage in YYC.
