Is this not just a trick from LH to have flights to both Taiwan and Communist China?
I remember Swissair, KLM, AF and BA all have similar Asian subsidiaries.

This is about several years ago that Condor had 747´s in it´s fleet. I guess it were 3 or 4, but they didn´t stay long.
They were used for flights to holiday destinations ( mostly mediterrenean sea ).

They were used, as far as I can remember, for flights to Tiwan. In return Condor leased a B767-300 to Lufthansa. Lufthansa had been losing money on flights to Australia, and so leased a B767-300 from Condor to operate the flights in the hope that they could make the flights profitable. I don't think either venture worked out!

Yes, the Condor 744 was used for Lufthansa's "back door" route to Taiwan flying Frankfurt-Bangkok-Taipei twice a week. But it didnt last long as it lost money.
Also, the 744 was used sometimes to Colombo and Phuket.

Actually there was only one 744 flying with Condor, registration D-ABTD. It was a combi version, and the aircraft is now back LH colors.
