Now with the completion of the big Novartis Terminal at Basel/Mulhouse Airport the only thing that is missing are planes! Rumors say that they will operate a A319 BizJet on the routing BSL-EWR-BOS-BSL on a daily schedule as from November. Has anybody an idea where those planes would come from? Has Airbus had an official order from Novartis? Or will they probably use smaller jets such as the G4 or the Gobal Express? Has anybody info on this subject?

If they are flying into EWR to transport employees to their NJ location, it would make sense to use a larger business jet and fly into MMU instead... MMU is probably 10 minutes away...

How larger is this "terminal" they have built?

The Hangar has space for 4 A319's. All pax facilities ares also there, so I really wonder whats going to happen.
Aren't Novartis Pax booked on CO ex ZRH to EWR at the moment?

There was a lengthy thread several months ago about this proposed operation BSL - EWR when it was not yet decided that it would become a Corporate Shuttle.
See BSL-EWR Relaunch Ahead (by RJ100 May 29 2005 in Civil Aviation) for some more info.

Hi

An internal decision in the company will be made in the next 2 weeks. There are currently several scenarios. From keeping the current situation to buying an own A-319 everything is possible...

But I'll keep you updated if I get any news.

Novartis is already flying with 2 Global Expresses but they are operated by Japat AG Basel so I guess if they will get an A-319 then Japat will operate it too.

Best regards,

Thomas
