Hey, I hate to ask for fare finding on this board, but I am having a tough time with rates right now. Usually I search around and can find PDX or SEA going to any of the three DC ports at a good price. However, this time I can't find lower than $340 even when combining promo flights.
I'll be traveling early august. So, anyone out there know of a better fare?
If not, does anyone know when the greyhound of the skies will be offering their nationwide $99 specials again?

My friend I hate to tell you this, but I would jump all over the $340.00......most fares in that market are approaching 600.00 rt...and that is 14 days in advance with a saturday night stayover required.....good luck

Fares are unbelievable right now, performing a low fare search on travelocity for anything cross country is downright frightening.
I think its symptomatic of airlines wanting to eliminate travel agencies online and off. Take the special delta-air.com fares for example. They feature a city such as nashville from the any major west coast airport for $178 RT. While a route like that, say PDX-BNA, comes with a not-so-low :-( price tag of $400+ on Travelocity.

And if you think that's bad now, just imagine what a great fare you can get if UAL and US merge and open the door for even more mergers until we reach that wonderful time of 3 megacarriers. When that happens, $600 would be considered a "great fare" Ah, competition!
