My friend flew AF to miami, he said that the service was excellent, food ok and seats pretty comfortable. Talking about safety, I think AF is safe, but maybe not as good as LH. I have never flown AF myself, but I would like to fly the 747-100 or 777-200. 747-100 is pretty rare in europe and I'd like to experience it before it's too late

I'm happy to see your friend enjoyed AF to MIA.
About safety, I know Air France quite well and I knwo Lufthansa too (I was already in their two hubs and I have spent time in FRA in particularly), and I can say AF is as safe as LH.
Moreover AF is changing its whole fleets and has many planes on order, and new orders are to be annouced soon (for 747-200).
About 747-100, you have to be quick because they'll have totatly desapeared from the fleet next october.
