Now please, nobody hit me with this one, I don't know the make up of FR's fleet, and the number of 732's flying, but I have just booked on Fr from STN - SXF on Oct 21st returning Oct 24th. What a/c can I expect?By that I mean 732 or 738? What is the flight time on this route and how long is the transfer to Berlin? I know SXF isnt in Berlin, but the other airports were way more expensive, we've paid £46.00 return which you cannot knock!
British Caledonian...we never forget, you have a choice
SXF is in Berlin, just not as central as TXL or THF. As for public transportation to/from SXF, I have no idea. I have been there only once to attend the ILA but I took a taxi on the way from TXL to SXF and a shuttle bus on the way back.

SXF is not in Berlin, that is true. It's located about 1 mile from the city borders tough and definitely has better connections than TXL. The Berlin Schoenefeld Railway station is located about 500m away from the main terminal. You can choose between two S-Bahn-lines, if you are heading for the eastern part, take the S9, which takes about 35 Minutes to Berlin Alexanderplatz, if you are heading for the western part, take the S46 to the Ringbahn which offers lots of crossing U-Bahn and S-Bahn lines which take to almost every part of the city. Of course that is possible on the S9 too, but as I said, if you are heading for the west, the S46 is better. Those two are the cheaper alternatives, because you can buy a dayticket for the entire network and already use it from the airport.
The faster alternative however, is to take one of the Regional trains, which take you to the Stadtbahn in about half the time (20 Minutes to Alexanderplatz).
