There's a topic saying it, although the type of aircraft it is not mentioned.

Good news for the A330 program, not shadowed by the A350. In 2005 the A330 has been ordered by Air Caraibes, Kingfisher, Jet Airways, Qatar, GECAS, Air China and Northwest, not bad. Don't you think so?

On the other hand, would have been great that the order was for the A380.

Agur,
Hegan

Please not, that means that news sites will now be flooded again with PRs by China Southern announcing that they are taking delivery of their 4th/5th/6thetc A330  scared .

You are correct, I started another thread without specifying which kind of aircraft, as none were listed..

It was a matter of when, CZ would place a follow-on order to the intial A330 order. With continued expansion of the Chinese market domestically and int'lly they could use the plane in the near future.
Anybody know which type will be involved: -200 or -300 and will be they be powered by RR (same powerplant that are on the delivered A332s). I would figure to be RR since Mr. Blair is visiting.

The A330 is wonderful and a very capable and very photogenic airplane. By far the best widebody in Airbus' lineup... at least this is my opinion but certainly shared by many.

It's nice to see that Airbus can continue do well considering the new products such as 787 and A350. I still think and even though no matter what Airbus says... the A330 days are numbered for bigger and better things... The A350.

Cheers,

Ric

According to:

the engine deal is still up for grabs. Anyone know who the 'front runner' is?

Does anyone seriously think that China Southern would buy RR for their first four A330s but opt for GE or PW for the next ten? Especially when every other China + Hong Kong airline has chosen RR?

Actually not "approx" but pretty close. Although according to JP Fleets Dragonair has 16 in service or on order.

Engines for the new aircraft had not been chosen, Gray said. China Southern's previously ordered A330s have Rolls-Royce Plc. engines, giving that British company an edge in bidding for the new order.

Sources close to the airline told Reuters on Monday that the deal would be signed this week.

Since the article states that the airframe deal has already been signed, are we given to understand that this refers to the engine order?
