I have been looking at fares from the US to Sweden around this new year for an friend and to me, it seems like prices are higher every time i look. The case is the same for fares from Sweden to the US next summer. What are your views on this? Are prices going to get down again or should I book the tickets because the fares are going to get even higher?

Prices will likely not be going down any time soon. Fuel prices have skyrocketted because of the "impact" of Katrina on production in the Gulf Of Mexico. Hopefully it will start going down, but the airlines aren't going see their fuel costs decrease for quite a while. If you know you're going to be traveling on those dates I'd say you're more likely to save money by booking now than you will if you wait until your travel date gets closer.

Book now, tickets never go down during xmas time.
If you want to get a cheap fare make sure you fly after 09 January when all the xmas traffic ends. If this is the case, wait until the airlines put their new year specials in the market.

Where are you looking? Sometimes an international air consolidator helps with these things. Just enter international air consolidator into a search engine.

For the winter flight, it's for a friend of mine going from DSM to ARN. The summer flight is for me going ARN-DSM. I will check the international air consolidator thing out. Thanks!
