N183JB
c/n 190007
"Come Fly With Blue"
"Harlequin" tail design

My guess for the designation for the aircraft type will be E190-200AR but that could change. This aircraft is the one on the photo that was posted here last week.

It will be arriving at JFK late evening on the 14th. Then it's suppose to go straight to MCO for Live TV installation and then proving runs until October.

???? I thought the E190's were getting Live TV installed in Brazil. What did I miss? Screens installed by Embraer?

Man, I'm WAY too curious about the new E-jets. Let me add to the chorus that I think that they're the most exciting new airframe out there. More interesting than the A380, B787, or A350.  hyper  Why? There are just too many routes within the E190-200AR's range that cry out for non-stop service (that do not have it yet). At least, here in the US. That and I have a thing for non-stops. (And... I'm willing to pay a premium for that preference.)

Quoting Icebird757 (Reply 7):

We all know that *every* stop of those proving runs will be closely monitored by the a.netters. Please instant message me the second someone starts a thread on the city pairs that B6 is initializing route proving.
spin  I'm not talking about the *many* speculative threads, I'm talking about "N183JB now taking off MCO to XXX for its initial route proving run followed by runs XXX-JFK, etc."  spin

And boy will it be exciting when any of the E-jets set down in a non-current B6 city.  hyper

Embraer is in FLL, Jetblue has it's IFE Hangar in MCO. Jetblue built a hangar in Orlando solely to support it's fleets IFE needs to include installation, modification and maintenance.

Guys,

There has been a last minute swap of the names. N183JB will now wear "Azul Brasileiro" as told to me by email this evening.

I'd LOVE to see B6 start flying here. Does anyone know what routes the E190's will be flying once revenue service begins?

I think naming each plane with different blue names is cool.. Just having fun with the names..

You're right. They should start including "White" in the names, it would make more sense.

rotfl  First, I really like the fact every plane has a name.  spin
Second, its *almost* like the clipper naming of Pan Am. By having a theme, it ties in everything. Personally, B6 should also start naming aircraft after famous Blues artists.  bigthumbsup

Quoting AndrewUber (Reply 13):

I still think B6 will do a slow city expansion with the E90's mostly going to "connecting the dots" and opening a few new destinations. Its always expensive opening a new station and if the E90's can do it cheaper than the A320's, good for B6.

Now to throw a wrench of a question out there, when do you think is the earliest B6 would increase their E90 order (assuming the E90's perform as advertised; I think they will, but I've done enough engineering to know there can always be an issue). Or will B6 use the E90 order to gain a better deal with Airbus? Personally, if B6 acquires a third aircraft with delivery before 2010, I'm selling my stock. After then...  spin

I spoke with a Captain the other day, and he said that we were considering the 318, but with the engines we wanted, the entire structure would have to be changed, the 319 was too big, the E190 is the perfect choice, I spoke to some of our techops, and they say that the computers are more sophisticated and better on the 190, than the 320..

Crogalski -- I think he meant if we ever decided to get a bigger aircraft, i.e. 330s or 350s or *gasp* 340s.

I'd LOVE it if we got 321s. We could send them to Florida all day long and free up some 320s.

Nah, not many airlines have the 100 seat airplanes anymore, Fokker 100's etc.. They "were" looking into the 318s and 319s, but then the 190 came out, and it was just the plane they were looking for, the CPT i spoke with, spoke with Barger about it.
