For your reading pleasure, I present you with my plan of reorganization for UAL.

First, you will have to join the group, so I can register your name as having read and received a copy. Then, just proceed to "Documents" and you will find the files.

There are quite a number of files in this document. The main document is titled: United Reorg Plan FINAL.doc. The rest of the document are the supporting data used in preparing the proposal. The proforma financials are under United Proforma 2006.xls. Please note that it is several worksheets long and is very detailed in its financial data.

A lot of this information came from the first reorganization plan United filed. I took that apart and analyzed its faults, inserted my thoughts and my ideas and used their financials as a template for creating the forward budget line items. You may thus discover why the financials look very much like their 10K filings. I felt there was no need to reinvent the wheel, just use it to forecast based on the new variables of the products I wished to introduce, plus the air travel forecasts and capacity share, including capital purchases and repayment of the DIP financing, which would need to be done over the next five years.

There are a lot of controvertial ideas in this document. In fact, there are some ideas in this document that will look like what United is doing now, but are NOT....they are differences. Great differences. There are also some ideas that will not sit well with the unions. However, before sitting down and negotiating the tough stuff with the unions, I would intend to bring the union leaders in and make them part of the process of fixing the carrier, not be an adversary as, in my opinion, current management has made them.

As I state in the document, this is not easy. It isn't simple. However, it is my vision of what needs to be done. You may agree with it or not, that is your choice. However, as I state clearly, if someone wants to take this up and do something with it, then give me a call, and I'd be glad to help them do it.

Any individual questions please post through your hotmail account and I will answer them at the end of the day when I receive the batch mails.
As to the forum, I will do my best to respond to this as best possible...
the good, the bad and the ugly.

I have promised you all a plan: I have now delivered on that promise.
