How Are DL's Flights 16/17 To And From MAA Doing?

How is delta doing on their recent Indian route addition to MAA. While I am happy they picked MAA, I wonder what made them pick MAA over BLR (especially with more and more new carriers flocking to BLR whose traffic supply seems to be endless these days).

I flew DL 16 on CDG-MAA just a couple of days back and the flight was barely at 50% capacity. One of the fa's told me that the flight is always packed solid on the west bound runs and the load factors on the east bounds have been pretty good till just the last week or so.

So, how is DL's MAA route working out? Are their yeilds good enough? Anyone in the know?

Thanks,
Josh

I've flown on 9V-SPK.

I am speculating here...

1.NW did announce it's intention of serving BLR quite early...
2.AF had BLR/MAA on its wish list form late 2001 and could not fly in, as ASA did not allow them to do until the recent amendment.... AF opted for BLR
both the points amount to conflict of interests(SkyTeam)

if DL had opted for BLR, then AF and DL both will have BLR flights from CDG because DL uses CDG as semi-hub.

from star dust....

All we know is that BLR's traffic supply to the west exceeds the capacity provided by the one daily flight to FRA. The rest we will find out after this winter's capacity addition - whether BLR can fill 3/4 flights a day throughout out the year.
