Question About New UK-India Bi-lateral

Here is a question that has started to puzzle me. A year or so ago the EU courts declared that all the bi-lateral open-sky agreements between the USA and individual EU countries were null and void, and a bi-lateral agreement must be negotiated between the USA and the EU. (This led to on-going negotiation about cabotage, launch aid, Bermuda II, and all sorts of other nasty discussions that are not germaine to this thread).

It has just been announced that the UK has entered into a new bi-lateral air service agreement with India.

Is this not in direct conflict with the EU high court ruling?

Is this the UK thumbing their nose at the EU?

Is it all just posturing and politics?

I think the USA is a special case...though I may be wrong! Anyone want to enlighten me?

Sometimes I wish we did! There are some good things about the EU, but most of the time its.......aaaaaaarrghhhhhhhh!  banghead  I mean what's all this mess about China? I see no reason why Chinese exporters should be stopped from sellng their textiles to Europe. There are some countries in the EU that need to realise the EU and other mature economies need to invest in hi-tech industries, in science and in IT if we are able to retain our competitiveness. We need to adapt - widen the technological gap. Putting up tariffs is a short-term answer which does no-one any good! Wake - up and smell the coffee - Globalisation is reality!  coffee   eyepopping
