When Air India does sign the deal for their 20 new 787s, 5 777-200LRs, and 10 777-300ERs, where would they use them to?

My guess:

Trash their old 747s, and perhaps keep 4-5 of the newest ones in service.

-New daily 787 nonstop from DEL/BOM to SFO/EWR/BOS/YZZ/IAH/HKG/BKK/SIN.
-Daily one-stop (via europe or asia) 777-300ER to LAX/ORD/JFK.
-Daily nonstop 777-200LR to LAX/ORD/JFK.
-Daily nonstop 777-300ER to LHR/CDG/Frankfurt/NRT.

Any additions or changes?

Why atlantic routes to and from USA? Apart from marketability from certain cities (which is understood to an extent), does 787's range allow transpacific from LAX direct to BOM?

What's the point of traveling the long way around, other than getting mroe people to fill the plane?

No, think of it this way. They right now have a daily 744 to LAX. And a 787 + 777-300ER = a little bit more capacity than a 744. (which is ideal for future route expansion) So, for the passengers who are interested to travel direct to India, the 787 flight is for them. And passengers tansiting through say Frankfurt, use the 777-300ER flight. Hope it makes sence.

You might see some Inter-Asia flights. We get many Indian Tech people into NGO. Many travel now on CX, TG or SQ. There are many hi-tech companies using Indian staff in Central Japan.

Maybe they start more flights to Japan. NRT has too many restrictions now. KIX and NGO are the only places that still have tons of space.

Its a bit too soon for AI to decide where the planes go and the deal hasn't been inked as yet...

I thought AI were going to start flying to IAD. Was that just a rumour?
