when i saw that OS 772 i did a double take. It looked like a 767 at first, but at 2nd glance, i saw it was a 777. their colors look MUCH better on the 777 IMO

The caption says that it is fresh from the paint shop, so I'm thinking it is the first aircraft in OS' new livery?
Just a guess

DAL7e7 is wondering... Do pilots take crash courses?

they didn't - but they bought Lauda Air, who had the 777, and eventually they have been introduced into the OS fleet. They have been flying OS flight numbers for a while!

Quoting RootsAir (Reply 8): Really sorry for that. And I repeat the question...what's so special about it ?
Nothing "so" special except that it is the first B777 is this UGLY Austrian livery ... (Why, the helll, did they put this terrible light blue on the belly and the engines ???)

Ummmm,
I saw it, and, oh, I'm not likin' it! Yuk!
Never liked powder blue on a plane. Guess that's why I never liked Korean Air.

The other odd feature of the new OS livery is the shadow under the new logo, which doesn't lend itself to the fuselage of a plane as well as the Wrigley's gum logo of the past. And yes, that blue is bad when juxtaposed with the bright red. Ugh -- of course Austrian has always been allowed to run amok with the colors. See a flight attendant if you need more evidence of that.

The light blue makes it look like a toy.
I don't follow OS; the ship is named "Melbourne", I take it they serve Australia? What is the routing?
What intercontinental routes do their long range aircraft serve?
A340?
B777?

I can't believe you guys don't like the Austrian colors. I may be biased, but just because an airplane has blue on it doesn't mean it's ugly. Also, I hate to break it to you guys, but blue and red do actually go together. Anyway, regardless of whether you like the new paint job, it's always exciting to see an airplane in new colors (like the jetBlue E190).

That is your opinion, it does look like crap.
25 Magyarorszag: For me, the latest c/s is far better than the one with the blue/green cheatline and the arrow logo glued in the middle of the flag/tail.
26 Luxair: I don't like the OS livery in general but one has to say that it looks better on the T7 than on the A340, has to mention that I like both types of Air
27 Bohlman: I agree. So what was that you just stated as fact? But what about your other post? So the first time an aircraft type gets a certain paint job isn't
28 HEGAN: I would expect OS to reduce their long haul models in the coming years. An airline of this size can´t operate the Airbus A330-200, the A340-200 and -
29 EGFF: IMHO and just my 20p, i think the livery looks very nice on the B777 and A340 ... Shaun
30 UAcosCS: From a majority on this site, looks like nobody likes the light blue. Is that fact? It is from a group of folks who have commented. And what about my
31 Sabena332: I agree absolutely, the blue is looking absolutely horrible. They had such a great livery and it is sad to see that they replaced it with this sorry
32 Fly_yhm: I like the Blue. You guys must hate looking at a big blue sky which would make spotting a difficult think. Oh an ya I LOVE KLM AND KOREAN I don't even
33 USADreamliner: It's the first 777 painted in the colours of Austrian.Soon all Lauda Air airplanes are going to be painted in this uninspired livery. And by the way,
