I am flying back and forth from SLC to NYC usually EWR because i have a lot of discount certificates with UA. I want to gain elite status via miles i wont be close enough in segments. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make a mileage run out of this flight. Connecting in ORD, IAD, and DEN gains you nothing really. UA practically doubles the fair when you try to connect in SFO or LAX. Anyone have any ideas on how to get some miles out of this trip without doubling the fair. ANY ideas or help will be greatly appreciated and i am thanking anyone in advance.
