I heard that Easterwood Field (CLL) is used for military pilot training, but have never seen a DC3 there. Seems like military pilots practice landings and stuff there.
One day I saw a Lauda 737 flying over my house there. I think it was chartered or sold to the US military, too. However, it was in full Lauda colors.

Frederik

It operates for the US Navy, I believe...

I used to work there while at TAMU, give them a call at 979-845-4811 and just ask wazzup!

They have military jets in town most likely because of the home football game tommorow morning against SMU for a flyby. I saw more Marine Hornets there for the year and a half I worked there than when I was in the Marines!

Don Adams has a brand new GV on the end of runway 34, he's the top guy at 1st National Bank. Lowry Mays (for whom the Business school is named) used to fly in from SAT a lot on a GIV - talk about a short trip. TAMU has two King Airs, Trajen has a King Air, and you'll see a football charter from Champion 727 to a DL 757 for the football teams going out this time of year.

Also during graduation you might find a BBJ or Challenger, and there are a lot of big-wigs flying in and out on NetJets or what not. The USAF and USN/USMC fly in there a lot for flight training since there are a lot of former Ags in the service. You'll see T-1's and T-37's all the time but not usually T-38's because they require a start cart and Easterwood only has a handful. The Navy will bring in T-34's, C-12's, and even T-45's all the time as well. I'd say the military traffic there is a significant patron of their JET-A.

Check out their website, they have a lot of pics:

We have some Lears and King Airs fly down to CLL from DAL from time to time as well, usually on game days.

You probably saw a bunch of us from Laughlin AFB (callsign: Rake XX) beating up the pattern at CLL.

Holy crap...had no idea there were that many of us on here.

Today's fly by was pretty damn cool...the lower the better.

Best I have ever seen were 3 F-18 Super Hornets a couple of years ago...felt like they were less than 100 feet above the stadium.

Another that was amazing to see was the missing man by 4 F-16's following the fall of Bonfire.

You will see more private jets flying in and out on the bigger confrence games such as Baylor, OSU, t.u. Plus you will catch quite a few flying out on away games esp. with Tech being in lubbock this year and OU being away.
