There is no flight between Newark and Victoria, BC, Canada! Victoria is a small city in BC near Vancouver,BC. Where did you hear this coming from? I checked my OAG and there is no update flight in those between cities. Are you sure correct airport code YYJ or what city?

This guy keeps bringing this up every once in a while how some US airline is going to fly their largest jet to some Canadian city which most Americans have never heard of. Come on, man, give it a rest, okay?

you need to use common sense, if CO were to do that, they would probably start out with a 737 or an MD-80 or possibly a 757, what is the point of using your largest jet to fly to an airport that AC doesnt even fly a big jet in to. its probably a mistake in the source or a reading error, i can believe a 737 or 757 but NOT a 777.

Now, a much much much more likely scenario is that CO has its 777s delivered from YYJ for tax reasons. Many airlines take delivery of Boeing jets from across the border.

However, just because you see a jet at some airport in no way can you conclude that it must be a scheduled service. There's a nice picture of a US Airways 757 at YVR on this site, although US does not, nor has it ever served YVR.

However, I feel that I'm speaking to deaf ears, since Mr. YYJ has been told this every time he posts stuff like that here.

Hey, I was just thinking the other day what ever happened to the 777 service to YYJ! Quite coincidental. You know, this was announced by 'yyj' last year. So, when does this service actually start? 2010?

I live in Victoria (5 minutes from YYJ) and have not heard anything about CO serving Victoria. No major U.S. carrier currently serves this city (only Horizon Air serves YYJ) and it would seem strange that CO would offer service to/from EWR, especially when there is no great demand for that market from here. If they were to offer the service, I could not see them using the 777 (perhaps 737-800 or 757). No scheduled carrier (Canadian or otherwise) offers wide body service from YYJ. Canada 3000 offers seasonal charter service to HNL using the A330, but that is the extent of wide body service here. As far as U.S. airlines serving Victoria, the only one I could possibly see coming here would be Alaska Airlines, but I don't even think that will happen any time soon. On the other hand, I think any major U.S. carrier serving YYJ would be a great addition to our busy little airport!!
