Sri Lankan Airlines has reported a net profit for its financial year, despite the effects of the December tsunamis that devastated the airline's home market and continued high fuel costs.
Sri Lankan posted a net profit of LKR 1.4 billion ($13.8 million), down nearly 76 percent over the previous year. Revenue was up nearly 19 percent at LKR 54.7 billion ($546.9 million).
Passenger revenue was up 15 percent on passenger numbers up more than 17 percent, even though tourist numbers to Sri Lanka were down after the tsunamis. Capacity was up 15 percent.

good on them! i flew with them a few years ago, just after terrorists destroyed half their fleet. the spirit and friendliness of the cabin crew was amazing. they have obviously worked hard as a company, and deserve the money they are making!
