MIA is open, but most flights are cancelled.

I just took a peek at FlightExplorer and noticed that AA is operating some flights in and out of MIA, in particular:

Inbound flights coming from:

Why would AA run these particular flights?

I checked SABRE and the only flights I saw cancelled out of MIA were one each to DFW and ORD. Flights to and from BOS, EWR, JFK, LAX and SEA were all still running. Those are the only ones I checked, also I only checked availability not what time they were actually arriving and leaving at.

You know, good point. When I checked FlightExplorer (guess it was around noon local time), it did not dawn on me that they were just delaying the flights (though these must be hefty 6 hour+ delays!).
