I was speaking to this one dude in England today and one of his friends just got a job flying the 1-11 for ** airlines. He messed up his sim badly and still got the job. They are retireing them next year and he will be flying a 737-400. For 300 hours that is not bad going.

He is no exception. Europe has a different philosophy about aviation. There are many very low time F/O's with many major European Airlines. Theoretical knowledge is regarded higher in Europe, whereas flying experience is regarded higher is the USA. The best would probably be somewhere in between (as usual..)
