Hi all,
I recently was sent this link ( http://www.l1011.homestead.com/TransAtlantic-Airlines.html ) about Trans Atlantic Airlines getting a DL L-1011 from VCV for operations. ("Plans include operating six L1011's re-registered to TransAtlantic airlines from JFK to destinations in West Africa. An additional two L1011’s were also acquired for parts planes for a total of eight L1011's.")
These two sites indicate that the airline had ceremonies in mid-2003 and had plans to acquire A330s for their operations, and:
"We have scheduled Two flights (KC 510) to take off thrice weekly (every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) from New York (JFK) and Baltimore respectively. The flights (KC510) will return every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday respectively.

Quoting AF022 (Reply 2): I thought Transatlantic airlines was dead. The website (although bare) seems new.
Back from the grave..
The NAA gave VK monopoly on LOS-NYC for the next 7 years (including many other routes)
in the article they mention about stratring with a A330 (2003) now with a L1011..
CO applied to LOS and look at the result?
NAA applied to LOS (via ACC)... not sure what the result came too
Because the US gvt rejected VK to fly to the USA, the nigerian gvt is refusing all application for US airlines to fly. this will only hurt the Nigerian aviation industry.
i recall an airline flying from JFK to accra using 747s they flew to BJL,Douala, ABJ.... to name a few... they had problems filling their seats up. they had offers $$999 return and buy one get one free ticket..
Next destinations, Suarabaya, beirut, paris, Accra

TransAtlantic made a big fanfare in the NY market during the summer/fall of 2003, and then failed to materialize. They actually had offices in downtown Manhattan, a small sales team, and pitched the carrier first using a 747 and then an A-330. I actually believe they did operate a few flights with an Air Luxor A-330.

Soups- I believe this was Afrinat? I am not certain they ever started service, either, but the Air Luxor A-330 could have been them, I cannot recall who it operated for.
