Everyone is invited to attend the Boston Airline Show at the Embassy Suites Boston Logan Airport. Admission & Parking are FREE.
A Slide Show will be held on Friday, October 28 at 7PM. The Airline Show will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 9AM to 3PM.
Last year's show was a big success and there are nearly 90 tables sold with tons of Airline stuff!
Everyone is also invited to participate in the raffle with at least 2 dozen prizes including 2x 2 Free Business Class tickets anywhere AirTran flies!!!
The Hotel, which normally charges $200 or more, is giving airline show visitors a very special rate of only $99 for a suite which includes a manager's reception with food at night and a full buffet breakfast in the morning. More information is available at justplanes.com

This would be a very nice weekend getaway at an unbelievably low price, considering how expensive Boston is!

Anyone planning to attend?

I definately expect to be there. Even though I only live a couple of miles away, that $99 deal is really great - and tempting.

I know the slide show is being run by Joe Pries so it should be pretty good. I missed the slide show last year but the actual event on Saturday was cool, and although I just did a day trip from LGA the Hotel is really nice and $99 for a full suite and full cooked to order Breakfast is a GREAT deal. Embassy Suites are often $200-250 per room per night !

Cheers

I will be in the area for the day to attend the show. As with last year, I will be flying out of PHL that morning (Oct. 29) and returning that same late afternoon/early evening... I booked the flight reservation a few months ago when FL advertised a fare sale. My flight's scheduled to arrive at BOS at 10 AM and my return flight is scheduled to leave at 4:40 PM.

I'll see you all then.

P.S. Despite being overshadowed by the Red Sox victory parade last year, there was still a fairly decent turnout. Needless to say, every T.V. monitor in the lounge areas had the parade on. The only question will be... will there be a repeat of overlapping events?

We should think about some spotting and evening entertainment, as this has the potential to become a large A.net meet. I'm not sure what the spotting would be like from some of the rooms at the Embassy Suites, but there's always Castle Island and the Fish Pier, pending wind direction/take-off/landing configuration. I'm not sure we'd have enough cars to cart everyone around - we'll have to see.

Afterwards, we can hop on the Blue line from BOS to State or Government Center - there are a slew of good restaurants/Pubs in that area, and it's a short ride from the airport.

Let's start a list of who's in with intineraries. I'll be glad to help co-ordinate, but this could get big, so I may need some help.

Attendees so far:

Tommy Mogren
Boeing767mech
LH423
9V-SPF
Gift4tbone
SNATH
PHLBOS
Flpuck6

I just noticed that the hotel rate includes a reception with food (where's JGPH1A?  Wink ). So, we can figure out which nights to go out and where. MOre than likely it will be hors d'ourves, so we'll all still be hungry.

My Saturday Oct. 29 travel itinerary is as follows:

AirTran Flight 510
Departing Philadelphia, PA (PHL) at 8:40 AM
Arriving Boston, MA (BOS) at 10:00 AM

Hang out at Embassy Suites Airline Show (maybe head out for lunch & possible spotting). Last year, bagged lunches were sold on site.

Return:
AirTran Flight 775
Departing Boston, MA (BOS) at 4:40 PM
Arriving Philadelphia, PA (PHL) at 6:07 PM

When I attended last year's event, some A.netters that drove up from NYC to attend (Mikephotos) as well as other local A.netters (Tappan) selling their photos/models/etc. at some of the tables.

Had I known that this year's show might generate a better A.netter turnout than last year; I would've either stayed over or booked a later return flight (FL 341). As I mentioned, while there were some A.netters who were there last year; most didn't stick around for too long, there wasn't any official meet per say.
