Just looked at the Virgin website at their Upper class seats/ sleeper beds on their 747-400.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it worth the extra money (£2500 return?) to Las Vegas.

It looked kinda cramped to me?

Yes without a doubt, although you have to be willing to pay the extra money! The seats are excellent, and are not as cramped as they look!

Will the LGW based 744's have the newer Upper Class suites on them?

LGW-LAS is a long way, well worth the upgrade, if you can afford it

PS if you only want the upper class one way, then I reccomend on the return as it is a night flight!

Rob!

VS upperclass is anything but cramped. It is often considered the best international business class going.

Thanks for the information everyone.
Not too worried about the beauty therapist - she would look at me and say "sorry Sir, this is only a 10 hour flight"!!

Not a big deal, like you said. In fact I don't even think you're guaranteed to get a massage.

I'd actually recommend that you go in UC westbound if its only the option of one or the other. For one thing its a longer flight and you'll get the benefit of the Clubhouse! Don't know how good it is at LGW though.

Whatever you do, I'm sure that you will enjoy your flight on VS.

Bigginhill, Check out: www.v-flyer.com and or trip reports on here. V-flyer has very detailed reports by Virgin flyers as it's one of their websites. It's actually kinda neat and fun. You can also see pictures of their meals on www.airlinemeals.net .
