In December 2001, before I was really into aviation, I flew with Monarch to Goa on a family holiday. I'm certain the plane was a Boeing, with 2 aisles. It definitely can't have been one of the A330s they operate, I was aware they did fly an A330 to Goa but that was out of Gatwick. We flew from Manchester. It can't have been a 767 as I have done a search on the photo database, all the results were from this year, one even stating 'Monarch's first 767 flight', dated May 1st 2005. Certainly nothing as early as 2001. It can't have been a 757 as they only have 1 aisle. Is there no way it could have been a 767?!?! Help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Are you sure it was a Boeing ? With 2 aisles, it could have been :

- Airbus A300B4-600R.
- DC-10-30.

Monarch operated both types at the time.

Just my 2 cents.

It must have been the A300 then! Thanks.

It could still have been an A330. Monarch took delivery of both A330-243 in 1999 already.

Why are you so sure it was no A330?

JM

Quoting Joshdean (Thread starter):

Did you fly fro MAN to GOA (Genoa, Italy) ? or to GOI (Goa, India ) ?

Because MAN-GOI is 7729km/4800mi and I don't think an A300-600R can cover this distance nonstop, especially in a high density/Charter configuration.
