TED could do well with LAX-SJD, especially the feed it can bring in from the Western US. I always felt UA previously went with SFO-SJD as only a secondary choice since they were locked out of many of the LAX-Mexico routes. Cabo is one hot destination from SoCal.
The new Mexico air service agreement opens up a host of new possibilities for airlines and the consumer.

I think UA would likely operate SJD as mainline (or at least be smart to) as it is actually a rather high yield tourist destination. Will be interesting to see where they go both on ORD-CUN and LAX-SJD

I would like to see them compete w/ Alaska Airlines, they run their flights to SJD pretty full all the time.. but its nice to see more competition coming at them. they have the north to south and south to north pretty well planed. Don't get me wrong I like Alaska Airlines. And F9 too

LAX-SJD, wow! What a surprise! I didn't expect a point to point route unless it was to CUN (with the exception of MCI-PVR starting up in December). But I'm happy nonetheless! I'm hopeful that we'll expand at LAX once again. Not only would it give SoCal another chance at Frontier, but it'd also give SoCal another option.
Of course, as a commuter from L.A., I have a fantasy dream that we'll not only expand in L.A. again, but we'll open up a crew base (and thus, eliminate my need to commute!). Ah, one can dream!

Good luck, F9!! I can also see UA starting this route as well. It's very high yield and being in the entertainment mecca of the world and a lot of those people going to SJD all the time, they could do really well in addition to AS on this route. If they are to start this route, I'd think they would use mainline over Ted as this is a very high yielding destination. It's even more expensive to travel there than it is to PVR.
