Is An "alliance Plane" Viable?

I keep thinking about VLAs, especially the 380, and wonder if there is a viable option for more multiple airlines in an alliance to acquire them together with use split between them.

As I fly oneworld my example would be QF and BA "sharing" the 380. With the seasons reversed down under the high season for QF is different than for BA. Why not have the 380 fly the high season flights for both? Having flown QF in low season I know that they don't need a 380 for all LAX - SYD flights.

The QF/BA and 380 example is only an example, but puts the thought into focus a bit. The question is, could it be viable?

This has been done. SAS/Swissair and SAS/Thai, as well as LH/Kenya Airways come to mind.

I think BA and Singapore Airlines did it with the the concorde with BA logo on oneside and SQ logo on the other. I believe Air France and Branniff also did it with the concorde

once, LH considered a similar move with SAA. as the SAA aircraft sits idle at FRA airport for most of the day, LH could use that plane to operate other flights, and after returning, it could head back to South Africa. that was in the late nineties and obviously did not make it.
