I've flown from LGW-BCN recently and noticed that some aircraft have reclining seats and some don't. Do U2 refer to those with reclining seats as the older A319s and are they used on the longer sectors particularly in the evening?

hi philippe , nice to see you on here. Would you know why Easyjet Switzerland gave those A319's away?
After all they are alrgely expanding their main Swiss base, GVa and have set a big base in BSL as well! I would have thought they would get more A319's and not give them away to EasyJet

Hi Braulio,
Nice to see you around here again too!
I have my own theory about these HB JZA/B/C/D/E
These planes were almost new (delivered sept/oct 2003) It certainly was an arrangement between both companies here, as are just one company but two entities. But what arrangement? It is an interesting question that I'll try to answer.
They recieved the newer ones between sept. and oct. 2004. Why they kept the newer ones is certainly because EasyJet Switzerland made the order. So it was kind of logical.
EasyJet Switzerland has been using B737s at the very beginning. They painted some of them with funny slogans like "Monopole Swissair, Non!" or "Geneve-Barcelone, toujours" and stuff like that. That was the fun
It is funny to know that a B737-400 was used by Easyjet Switzerland, EC-IHI, for one month only. The only -400 they ever had. It was an old Malaysian and it belonged to Futura.
Of the 8 733 EasyJet Switzerland had before, 5 came from EasyJet UK, 2 from TEA and 1 from Virgin Express. EXACTLY these 5 same planes that came from EasyJet UK are now back there and active with U2. Such as this one:
I guess that U2 did lend 5 planes to EasyJet Switzerland back in 1998, and these 319s are EasyJet Switzerland's debt to EasyJet UK they are paying now. 5 planes. Like in 1998 Here is ex-HB-JZB

For info all the EZ Airbus were order by easyjet UK and delivered to them, they immediately leased them to EZ switerzaland. I was just looking at there website and flights from GVA seem to be shorter than from UK, so may be they swap a/c to keep hours and mainteneace down.
