Quoting Dogfighter2111 (Thread starter): How long do you think it'll be before AA start flights to EDI, if they ever do?
I don't think AA will fly into EDI anytime soon. CO has the U.S. market to and from there filled well.
AA's 757 expansion in Europe is apparently going to be focused more at cities like DUS, FRA, LYO, AMS, etc., according to earlier posts on these boards.

That's about as likely as WN buying the 787 and starting DFW-SYD. Basically put, there isn't a chance in hell that CO would ever do anything at IAD beyond flights to EWR, IAH, and CLE.

Quoting Lazyshaun (Reply 1): Which other U.S airlines fly to Scotland?
GLA
CO - EWR
AA - ORD (seasonal)
US - PHL (seasonal)
EDI
CO - EWR
AA will talk with BAA GLA at the next route conference in Copenhagen about new flights to BOS or JFK. Haven't seen anything about EDI apart from some people saying AA people were at EDI not so long ago, not that it means anything though. Wouldn't be surprised to see BOS-Scotland soon, although it seems GLA is most likely to start with.

Quoting Dogfighter2111 (Reply 5): I heard rumours that CO were planning IAD-EDI. I doubt that will ever happen, but there could be small chance.
:S Ok, you will have meant UA, and even then I don't think they are even considering an IAD-EDI...
AA reps are meant to have visited EDI, that's as far as any AA interest goes. BOS or ORD would be nice, BOS is more likely, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

They are waiting for their winglet kits to be installed on the (15) 752s before starting up any new trans-atlantics. EDI is a good choice. Would also like to see them at DUS and BCN.
