I think that EC-JMF was previously F-OMSA with Air Algerie.

EC-JMF joins Air Madrids three A330-200s, 1 A340-300, and 1 A310. Air Madrids next add on to its fleet will be A320s.

I have to say that Diego Ruiz took a beautiful shot of EC-JMF which shows the beautiful fall skies of Spain and the beautiful light! His photo has brought back so many great memories of my wonderful year in Madrid, thank you so much Diego!

Will they be using the A330 only for the PTY-SJO-MAD route?

I'm glad to see Air Madrid apparently doing so well. Any news regarding new a/c acquisitions, and destinations? Thanks.

Just saw EC-JMF operate "Alada 1251/2" here in Salvador, making a fuel stop between EZE and MAD. She's expected to return tomorrow, on its way down to BA.

I was quite susprised, since I did'nt know they had A330-300s.

One singe A310? With no commonality to other planes in the fleet? That's strange. Maybe they give it somewhere for MX rather than doing it themselves, but they still need some pilots for only one a/c.

Will they connect with the A320s to other European cities? That would be great since there are not that many connections from Europe to Central America.

You got it right, thats what they will use.

The A310 operates charter flights and has been flying to EZE with a stop in SSA.

Yes, it is. And before AH, EC-JMF was used by EI as EI-SHN.

A 330-300 can't possibly make MAD-EZE without a fuel stop.

MAD-EZE is 10062 km.

I thought NM was operating the route nonstop using a 330-200?!
Even for a -200, it's a VERY long flight!
The longest nonstop A330-200 flight (excluding this one... admiting this is nonstop) is the AF CDG-NRT, with 9734 km.

Why the big mix of types for such a small fleet? they must be finding it difficult sourcing aircraft?

No commonality, well, it's still an Airbus...

That's how I see it:

- cheaper to get than a 332/333/343 or whatever else in that family
- fills a niche that 330/340 don't fill
- why flying a not full 332 when a full 310 can do the job? Yes 332 performs better on fuel, but that only works if the a/c is full...
- why having several 310s when you only need one?

When I doubt... go running!

A360, thats right. Both the A310 and A333 that they operate into EZE cant make non-stop, hence the stop in SSA. Also the A333 has shorter legs than usual, it being an early model.
However I have seen their A332's do it non-stop, as they overfly SSA on this route. I think I saw their A340 once, but I cant be certain.

MAD-EZE with a stop in SSA?? This is new for me, in NM webpage, EZE's flights are shown as non-stop (daily but with a weekly flight via TFN), they use an A332 for that route since the A343 is used mainly in SCL flights.
