I don't know if anybody mentioned this before, but I drove by AMS and saw a 747F of NCA at the KLM hangars. I have heard that the plane has been there for about a week or so. Does anybody know the reason for this?

It has some problems with the main gear. When lowered one set keeps hanging above the ground. Not good for a nearly new plane.

Yes, this is JA01KZ, almost brandnew B747-400F of NCA.
It arrived by using only 3 of the total 4 main gears. This is a very strange accident/trouble, and experts from Boeing have to investigate this case.
According my informations, the aircraft will stay for sure 2 to 3 more weeks at AMS.
I saw yesterday that they covered all the engines.

This is indeed strange for such a brandnew aircraft. I guess Boeing will be paying for all expenses in this case. I photographed this aircraft in July before I left the country. Nice aircraft and livery I must admit Big grin
