Hi everyone..

I am a great fan of JT.
I want to learn about JT`s 707. On A.net database there are some pics of his 707. As far as I know he is the only person flying his jet. Is it true or sometimes other pilots fly his jet for some reasons? On the database pics JT is the pilot?

Negative ghost rider. How can you fly a plane with one person which requires 2 bodies at the yokes and a GIB?

I cannot believe you... You didn`t understand the question. I am asking if sometimes JT gives his jet to other pilots.. Of course noone can fly alone on a jet.

What would you like to know...? He's been flying on the jet about 9 years....owned it about 7 years. His time with it started as a charter, but he later purchased it when it came up for sale. He's painted it twice now with the current colors being QANTAS in a deal worked out a 'Good Will' spokesman.

The jet actually started it's life with QANTAS and was later converted to a luxury interior. He does have other pilots that fly the jet.....but I would guess he does get his 'stick time'. If he is the pilot in the pictures, you guess is as good as mine and unless you have x-ray vision or a super image inhancer, there is no way to know.

I would hope so... lol.

I'd much prefer someone else to fly me to my vacation spots...

In true A.net spirit, I'll be anal and say it depends on the jet. A few are certified for single pilot ops - some Citations, and I assume most of the new VLJs (Very Light Jets) like Eclipse etc.. Insurance reason alone often still require these to use 2 pilots though.

Also in true A.net spirit, although he flies it with another crewmember, he is not actually legally the Pilot in Command (PIC) because he holds no B707 type rating. A quick search of the FAA Airmen Registry reveals this:

JOHN JOSEPH TRAVOLTA
Address
Street ************** City ***** State ********
County ****** Zip Code ******* Country ********
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medical Class: First
Medical Date: 05/2003
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
CertIficates 1 of 1

DOI : 09/04/2003
Certificate: PRIVATE PILOT

Rating(s):

PRIVATE PILOT
AIRPLANE SINGLE ENGINE LAND
AIRPLANE MULTIENGINE LAND
INSTRUMENT AIRPLANE

Type Ratings

P/CE-500 P/G-1159 P/HS-125 P/LR-JET

Limits

CE-500 (VFR ONLY).

However, this does not prevent him from flying as Second in Command (SIC), since he is appropriately rated in the applicable Category and Class (Airplane Multiengine Land), and holds an Instrument Rating. Also, since the flights are not used for compensation or hire, he does not need a Commercial Pilot Certificate; His Private Pilot Certificate will suffice.

For those not familiar with the FAA certification process, you may ask why he can still fly in the left seat if he's not the Pilot in Command. Simple: There is no requirement that the PIC must fly from the left seat; The roles may be reversed.

Another note: Although he doesn't hold a type rating for his 707, he does hold a type rating for his Gulfstream (see G-1159).

"About the only way to look at it, just a pity you are not POTUS KFLLCFII, seems as if we would all be better off."

Unless the database has not been updated, he no longer has any flight medical current. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
