Is anyone familiar with the Yakovlev YAK40? How large is it compared to a Citation X? Is it considered a corporate jet or an airliner? I've once been told by another a.netter that it's NOT intended to be used exclusively as a corporate jet like the Citation X. Do you agree or disagree? Are there any corporate jets out there with rear stairs?

777ER is correct, but since the break-up of the Soviet Union, many Yak-40s have been refurbished and are used as business jets. Can you imagine the USSR letting it's people fly around in private jets?
I met a russian who was like a maintenace engineer or something, and he used to work on Yak-40s. He thought it was funny that such a large number of A/C were being coverted for private use, and that private business jets themselves were a great big slap in the face of the communists, as this was probably the last thing the designers and decision makers had had in mind...
Cheers

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.
