I talked to guy today who works for Air Canada in DFW who was looking for a house here in anticipation of Toronto > Memphis service starting in Jan/Feb. He said 4 flights/day. Anybody heard about this?

Memphis? Doesn't this sound like a really odd route for Air Canada, or is it just me?

4X daily sounds like a bit much from YYZ-MEM, 2X daily with a CRJ would do, 3X daily at most.

Nothing in our computers yet for YYZ-MEM, but with new EMB's arriving monthly I can see it happening.

I thought the 4x soundly a bit much myself. Memphis paper also says today to expect an announcement possibly this week of commercial airline service to the Tunica airport. All they would say was that it was neither Southwest or JetBlue.

Maybe they're merging with NW  Smile

I think the Tunica service is going to be Champion Air or some other semi-scheduled carrier. They mentioned that it's somebody who also does charters for sports teams.

NW has 2 CRJs a day now from their hub to YYZ. Who knows after December but after living in MEM for 20 years I gotta ask - WHY?
