Ryanair is reportedly close to a deal with the dublin airport authority which will see it launch 20 new contintal routes from DUB. Under the deal, FR would get a 50% reduction in airport charges for the new routes. DUB's basement (originally designed to house a metro station but now currently used as storage) will be renovated to house a new checkin area. FR may aslo move to a new temporary aircraft contact pier .

As Dublin city has no metro system whatever - the airport basement, if designed to be a metro station, would have been rather pointless. In any event the airport terminal dates from the early 1970's, when the word metro was not spoken at all in Ireland.
Of course now there there are upteen differing plans for "metros", "interconnectors" and "rail links" running here and there across Dublin, including to the airport.
