That is not so unusual as it sounds.
LH`s bringing several times 744 to LHR for their FRA-Service.
Also here in germany it used on domestic routes like FRA-MUC-FRA, often when their workinghorses A300 are not available.
Friend of mine flew FRA-TXL with 744.

If both LeonB1985 and Dairy have a point, that would make sense as LH4722 is scheduled to be operated by A300.
On a different - but related - note, both LH and BA lay on larger than scheduled aircraft and various German routes throughout the year when trade fairs are on in Germany. BA, for example, still lays on 747s on the LHR-HAJ route once a year as a special for the computer fair - a route it does not serve any more ex-LHR. Anyway, it's quite fun travelling flatbed for an hour!
