Probably not. The US-ZRH market is currently served by Delta from CVG,
JFK and possibly ATL, American from DFW, and Continental from EWR.
The market is not sufficiently strong to warrant large aircraft like the 777.
Even Swissair is using smaller A330's over MD11's on a number of key
I think someone posted a note saying that Continental would use a 767
-400 on the route when the aircraft is delivered. I wonder if Delta will
maintain its CVG and ATL to ZRH flights, given that it no longer has an
alliance with SR.
American used to operate the 767-200ER from ORD but dropped the
route as its new partner SR flies it with an A330. Clearly not enough
demand for two flights.
With all those cool plane spotting areas at Kloten Airport, it is a shame
that 777's don't fly there in US airline colors now.

- The SR flight to O'hare is an MD11
- Delta currently flies ATL-ZRH, CVG-ZRH and JFK-ZRH.
only the CVG flight will be discontinued after 5 August.
- American might bring the 777 from DFW to ZRH
And after all you can still spot many different airlines from around the world including 7 daily 747s.

I don't think AA will use a 777 from DFW, although given the fact that
American has close to 800 flights a day at DFW, it is possible if they
get code-share permission for many more flights for SR to list. AA's
777's are intended from LHR, possibly CDG, Tokyo, and a number of
Latin America destinations such as Santiago, Buenos Aires, Sao Paolo,
and other cities served with the MD11, which is being phased out.
Then again, American has so many 777's on order, it's quite possible
that DFW to ZRH might get one. Would be cool.

AA and SR already have the permision for any codeshare flight they want. They have got the antitrust immunity from the US DOT. They will increase their codeshare flights at the beginning of august, from JFK, MIA, ORD and DFW in the US and in Europe from ZRH and BRU. In this case I can imagine that they perhaps will use a 777 from DFW to ZRH.

AA may operate a 777 from DFW-ZRH but only as a sub as the equipment is a 763 and if a US airline were to operate a 777 to ZRH, more than likely it will be AA because of SR and I have a feeling that AA may upgrade to a 777 if they are making a lot of cash on the route.
