I know that it is Eagles busiest route (MIA-NAS). They fly ATR42's and 72's there every hour on the hour pretty much all day and they are always over booked.
AA should send super80's or even 757's in there to help with the traffic flow.

Panther, Ive always thought this, more than once on those rickety ATRs on my way to paradise. I love the Bahamas. Is MIA-NAS really Eagle's most popular route? I've been on some crowded flights and I know availability isn't a prob. with all the frequencies. However, AA probably won't be supplementing jets because of the very low yields to NAS. Most passengers, almost all, are leisure travelers who bought very low fare tickets very early. In addition, even more are part of cruise ship package tours where AA makes little. The competition plays a factor too. Bahamsair has several daily nonstops from MIA and FLL, and of course Gulfstream flies just as much as Eagle, maybe more. So does AA make $ on MIA-NAS? Probably, but not a whole lot. Perhaps in the future we may see ERJ-135 or 145s on the route, which would be great, but even that is doubtful. Hope this sheds some light. I love this route, its going home for me.
