I have heard a lot of people complain about Delta's MD-88's, Please state your opinion on that crappy aircraft.

I love AA's MD-80's but with DL, they squeeze in a couple of extra rows in coach, thats probably what the complaints are about.

I give DLs MD-88s a 8/10. Becauase in the back, they have a few rows on each side with no windows. Personally, I could not stand that If I were seated there.

I like the MD-88's of Delta. I agree with American B757, I wouldn't want to sit in the back. I need windows!

...excepting the MD-90, of course. They're quiet, have more leg room than Delta's 732s, 733s, or 738s, and they've got that five abreast seating. The aisle is a little wider than the 737's, and it's climate control works better. I flew a 733 from ATL to HSV last year, and when we got onboard the plane was frigid. Many people got out blankets, but by the time we landed (half an hour later), it was burning up hot inside! Why? All things considered, the MD-88 is the best a/c in Delta's short haul fleet.

It's not that bad. A little cramped, but better than
those noisy 727's.

I love DL's MD-88s. I've flown on them many times, from ATL-SAT and back about 3 times, and DAB-ATL. They are wonderful. Well I love any and everything that flies, so I will defnitely love anything I fly on, so long as I'm up in the air and it takes me where I want to go, and I get a window seat. The MD-88 is a wonderful aircraft, I love the takeoffs and landings!!!

My 2 cents worth:

From a maintenance point of view, its not a lot of fun. Very cramped compartments to try and work in.

Also, sitting in the back is not only very tight, but there is the vibration from the engines which goes through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, and back through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, and back through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, and back through the floor, up the sidewall, across the ceiling, down the other wall, etc. for the entire trip.
